From 20–23 May, leaders and practitioners in Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) convened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for ID4Africa 2025 – the world’s leading global event on digital identity. Held under the theme “Digital Identity at Scale: Prioritising Use, Accelerating Impact,” the event centred on Africa’s identity priorities, with discussions focused on practical use cases, and the evolving agenda of DPI. Key conversations also examined how digital ID systems can enhance service delivery, regional mobility, and inclusion across the continent.
Bringing together over 2,200 attendees from over 105 countries, ID4Africa 2025 featured a comprehensive programme of conferences, symposiums, workshops, and an exposition – offering space for both high-level dialogue and hands-on demonstrations.
The MOSIP team contributed to several sessions:
On Day 2, Ramesh Narayanan (Chief Technology Officer), participated in the panel Scaling Digital Transformation Projects into Ecosystems, highlighting the key role of MOSIP’s partner ecosystem in supporting countries to design scalable, inclusive digital identity systems.
On Day 3, Nagarajan Santhanam (Chief Dissemination Officer), alongside Dr. Omar El Alami (Ministry of Interior, Morocco) shared insights from Morocco’s adoption of MOSIP during the session Digital Public Goods in Use, highlighting the significance of digital public goods in national DPI strategies.
That same day, Arun Kumar Gurumurthy (Chief Strategy Officer), contributed to the panel Safeguards in Action, where he discussed the practical implementation of Universal DPI Safeguards within MOSIP technology.
At the Exposition, MOSIP’s booth featured live demonstrations of our core platform, eSignet, and Inji – MOSIP’s credentialing stack. The space also provided an opportunity for us to engage with our technology partners and stakeholders, share insights from current implementations, and explore opportunities for future collaboration and ecosystem growth.
“ID4Africa continues to be one of the most impactful forums for the global DPI community. For us at MOSIP, it’s a special opportunity to come together in person with our adopters and partners, exchange stories, share progress, and learn from one another’s journeys in building inclusive digital identity systems.”
– Arun Kumar Gurumurthy, Chief Strategy Officer, MOSIP
The conversations at ID4Africa 2025 brought forward several meaningful insights and identified key opportunities and challenges for the DPI community to focus on moving forward. MOSIP looks forward to continuing to be a part of these dialogues and collaborating with partners to advance secure and inclusive digital identity systems worldwide.
